Women sharing support, resources, and encouragement on the journey with a teen or young adult with a mental or emotional health condition.

When it comes to the battle for a young person’s mental health and well-being, parents often feel they’re in the fight alone. Our Coffee Days peer support group wants to change that.

Coffee Days is a free monthly peer support group for moms and female caretakers of young people with emotional or mental health challenges. Women often come into the group feeling frustrated and alone in the fight for the health of their child and leave feeling supported, encouraged, and armed with new information and resources for mental health.

Meetings are on the first Thursday, second Thursday, and the third Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Location details are listed below.

  • The first Thursday Coffee Days is at Trinity Presbyterian Church in McKinney.

  • The second Thursday meeting is on Zoom. For information on how to join the online meeting, contact Barb.

  • The third Saturday meetings are at University Park Public Library in the second-floor meeting room.

Coffee Days meetings are meant to be a safe space for sharing. To ensure that, here are some gentle reminders:

Be Kind and Courteous
Coffee Days was created for sharing, encouragement, and resources. Don't hesitate to ask questions or share your knowledge, but do be kind and courteous when offering resources. If you can’t say something nicely, it’s best not to say it. Remember, we’re all in this together.

Politics-Free Zone
When you attend Coffee Days, you enter a politics-free zone. Please don’t initiate or engage in conversations of a political nature. That’s not why we’re here.

Judgement-Free Space
Coffee Days is a no-judgement zone. Women who attend meetings are trying to make the best decisions for their loved ones. Please refrain from criticism or negativity during our conversations.

Code of Confidentiality
Feel free to ask questions and initiate conversation, but don’t post anything from our Coffee Days meetings on social media or share with anyone outside of Coffee Days. We hold strongly to a code of confidentiality.

Thank you for observing these courtesies.

I visited fabulous Coffee Days with moms several years ago when our son was diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. The support group helped me find a way to put my feet on the ground again!
