Grant Hallibuton Foundation staff at the 2025 Hope Party
This Thanksgiving, I find myself reflecting on what it truly means to be part of a community—one that shows up, steps in, and stands together when young people need us most. You're part of that community, and all of us at Grant Halliburton Foundation are grateful for you.
Last week at The Hope Party, I was reminded of something powerful: When we come together, we are stronger. When we unite around hope, we change lives.
This year, our team has seen firsthand the challenges children and teens face—the questions they ask, the pressures they carry, and the uncertainty they feel. And yet, through all of that, we’ve also seen something else: the extraordinary impact of community.
We saw it in our partnership with the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas and a coalition of mental health organizations to launch YES YOU CAN!, a new initiative designed to build resilience and promote emotional wellness among youth across North Texas.
We saw it in our collaboration with Dallas ISD and Together We Thrive, where our mental health resources team led a six-week, art-based summer wellness camp that helped children explore emotions, build coping skills, and grow their confidence through creative activities.
We saw it when devastating floods struck the Texas Hill Country, and our team quickly mobilized, assembling trauma and grief resources and activating our Here For Texas network, with providers offering no-cost or reduced-rate counseling to families and schools in need.
And we saw it in every student and parent, every teacher and counselor, and every donor and volunteer, each one reminding us that community isn’t defined by one moment or one event. It’s built through people who choose, again and again, to show up for one another.
On behalf of the Grant Halliburton Foundation staff and board of directors, thank you for being part of our community and our mission. Thank you for believing in a future where every child and teen has the chance to thrive. And thank you for helping us carry hope forward into the year ahead—and into our 20th anniversary.
With gratitude this Thanksgiving,
Kevin Hall
