10 Things To Know About Ella

Meet Ella, Grant Halliburton Foundation’s marketing and development intern for the summer.

Originally from Dallas, Ella is entering her junior year at the University of Mississippi, where she’s majoring in criminal justice. She’s passionate about art, reading, and making a difference through meaningful communication. During her time with the Foundation, Ella is gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing, event promotion, and development.

Here are 10 things to know about Ella!

1. What was your first job? 

My first job was babysitting when I was 13 years old. My first kid was just two years old, and I wasn’t exactly sure what to do with her at first, but I soon learned she loved to color outside the lines. Inside the lines was wrong in her book.

2. What’s your guilty pleasure?

My guilty pleasure is eating too many Smarties candies.

3. What advice would you give to your teenage self?

Don’t worry about what other people think about you and focus on how you feel about yourself.

4. What’s your favorite movie scene and why?

The scene in “Parent Trap” where Elizabeth James is in the elevator at the hotel and Nick Parker sees her for the first time in more than a decade, right as the elevator door is closing. It’s simply iconic, and his shocked face is hilarious.

5. What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

People may be surprised to know that I have a twin brother, Ryan.

6. What would you name the autobiography of your life?

“A Little Bit of Everything”

7. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?

I enjoy reading and hanging out with my friends.

8. What are the top three TV shows you’re watching right now?

Vanderpump Rules, Desperate Housewives, and Modern Family.

9. Where’s your favorite travel destination and why?

My favorite destination is Seaside, Florida, because it feels like a second home and it’s my happy place.

10. Why is Grant Halliburton Foundation’s mission important to you?

Grant Halliburton Foundation’s mission is important to me because I have had my share of mental health struggles, and I believe it is incredibly important that anyone and everyone can obtain the support and resources they need.
