Here We Grow Again!

Foundation Celebrates Several New Hires and Promotions

Grant Halliburton Foundation continues to experience organizational growth propelled largely by the continued need for mental health education and mental health resources in North Texas.

The Foundation currently has an 18-person staff with plans to add two more positions this summer as demand for mental health and suicide prevention services grows.

The outreach and education team welcomed several new staff members last fall and early this year to reach more people with vital mental health and suicide prevention training.

The team includes Sonya Parker Goode, CLC, CAMS-I, director of outreach and education; outreach and education managers Shauna Barnes, Lindsey Encinias and Nicole Johnson; Jessica Look, M.A, Thrive Strategy and education manager; and Amy Pool, M.Ed., Thrive Strategy manager. Shelley Becker and Kelsey Cameron both joined the team in February as volunteer mental health educators.

“It’s such an honor to create and support impactful change in the North Texas mental health community with an amazing group of outreach and education managers,” Parker Goode said. “Our team has come together over a short period of time and grown into a group that’s passionate about school-based mental health services and committed to our mission.”

The Foundation also recently hired a mental health resources manager and a community engagement manager, and promoted three staff members within the Creative Department, which includes both events and communications.

Lizzie Davis Holley, LMSW joined the Foundation last summer as mental health resources manager for the Here For Texas Mental Health Navigation Line.

Laura Peña joins the team in early May as community engagement manager, a new position at the Foundation.

Amy McCloskey and Hannah Kennedy from the events team were also promoted. McCloskey, whose tenure at the Foundation dates back to 2009, has been promoted to senior director of events. Kennedy has been promoted to events manager.

• On the communications side, T.J. Griffin, with more than six years at the Foundation, has been promoted to senior director of communications.

Grant Halliburton Foundation President Kevin Hall, who recently celebrated five years at the Foundation, said the growing staff will continue leading the way to make a difference in North Texas.

“No doubt there’s a growing need for our programming and resources in our communities,” Hall said. “The Foundation’s growing team is dedicated to our mission to help teens and their families, lead them to help and give them hope.”
