Michael Kovac is currently a student at Duke University studying psychology. When he's not at work, Michael enjoys playing guitar, spending time with his family, exploring the outdoors, and cheering on Duke basketball. Believing that every challenge should be met with a positive mindset, he’s passionate about supporting Grant Halliburton Foundation's mission to expand access to mental health education and resources for children and teens.
During Grant Halliburton Foundation’s 20th anniversary year, Grant’s former Plano West art teacher, Douglas Darracott, reached out to return several pieces of Grant’s artwork to his family. The visit became a meaningful moment of reflection, memory, and gratitude for Grant’s creativity and the mission his life continues to inspire.
Texas Rangers Hall of Fame radio broadcaster Eric Nadel celebrated his 75th birthday with a packed night of music and community at the historic Longhorn Ballroom. The 14th annual Eric Nadel Birthday Benefit featured Sammy Rae & The Friends and Chuck Prophet and His Cumbia Shoes, with proceeds supporting Grant Halliburton Foundation’s youth mental health programs across North Texas.
Grant Halliburton Foundation hosted its 17th annual Beacon of Hope Community Luncheon on Friday, March 13 at the Omni Dallas Hotel, kicking off the organization’s 20th anniversary year. More than 500 guests gathered in support of the Foundation’s mission, helping to raise $335,000 for youth mental health and suicide prevention programs across North Texas.
On March 25, nearly 600 guests gathered at the Omni Dallas Hotel for the 16th annual Beacon of Hope Community Luncheon, raising $300,000 in support of Grant Halliburton Foundation’s work to promote youth mental health and prevent suicide across North Texas. The morning began with a vibrant welcome reception featuring music by DJ Lucy Wrubel, a celebratory champagne wall, and a variety of engaging activities.
Kevin Berthia, suicide prevention advocate and suicide attempt survivor, and Kevin Briggs, California Highway Patrolman and author of Guardian of the Golden Gate: Protecting the Line Between Hope and Despair, are the featured speakers for Grant Halliburton Foundation’s 14th annual Beacon of Hope Community Luncheon on Friday, April 19 at the Omni Dallas Hotel.
